A north facing villa, design based on vasthu, was made for clients who were interested in traditional interior, high roof, lavish garden and a grand lounge.
A chettinad kind of look (for a solid feel) asked by the client was reinforced by us with contemporary architecture. It can be seen in the elevation vividly from NH-45 bridge en route Trichy – Chennai bypass.
Contemporary yet traditional
High roof with ventilation
The stature of the building is in proportion to its magnitude
Draws one’s attention towards the stone cladded walls
Together giving a feel of a chettinad house with the hill station touch
As in chettinad houses, the pillar and thinnai invites one into a verandah
Partially covered by toughened glass
The grand main door leads into an open hall
The longitivity of the hall is slashed by the double roof height
Ventilated on all sides to eliminate hot air
Semi circular toughened glass staircase to the left
The kitchen cum dining is well partitioned from the hall similar to the trend
An indoor landscaped
The house in its backyard has the thinnai and traditional chettinad pillars
The north of the plot, as per vasthu is a huge unbuilt portion catering beautiful views from first floor balcony into its beautiful lawn cum water body, rocks sculpture and pavers.
